Bret Burgess is a former police officer, real estate developer, and elected public official whose personal journey from striving to surrender shapes the heart of The Genesis Reset. Raised in the shadow of abandonment and performance, Bret spent years chasing success—until a spiritual awakening in Southwest Florida reoriented everything.
Now rooted in Franklin, Tennessee, Bret lives with his wife and daughter, where they own a local coffee shop that serves as a gathering place for honest conversation, community, and faith. Through writing, coaching, and mentorship, Bret helps others walk out of performance-driven living and into the healing rhythms of grace.
